| GeoBound has partnered with the two Haitian mission ministries (Feed A Child and World Harvest Mission) listed above for several years in building projects, evangelism, orphanage support and assist our Haiti ministry partners and their disaster response efforts and rebuilding. FEED A CHILD is an active mission in Haiti, founded by Eldon and Donna Bryce, who are dedicated to the poorest people in our hemisphere. The Bryce's provide over 15,000 hot meals per month to hungry children, conduct medical clinics, usually in connection with one of their nine churches, and educate children. Other outreaches of their ministry include evangelism training in a different church each month, building houses for the homeless, and building churches and schools in mountain and jungle areas. World Harvest Mission mission ministry includes feeding the hungry, educating children, providing orphanage care, preaching the Gospel, training pastors and planting churches. 1-19-10 Updates Donna Bryce with FEED A Child was in the States at speaking engagements when the earthquake struck. She is in route to return to Haiti by traveling through the Dominican Republic. We are awaiting word from her. Her Haitian pastor (Pastor Wilson) is alive but his church collapsed located in Port au Prince. It is reported that many have church members have perished. He is housing numerous people in his own home. Donna will be assessing how FEED A CHILD ministry will respond and what is needed within a few days. We are collecting resources and assisting their ministry stateside in their relief effort. We do not know if the Christian school and church building that GeoBound built in Lartigue, Haiti is still standing. That particular area was also hard hit by the earthquake. Please see the video at the following link GeoREACH to Haiti Lee Sullivan with World Harvest Mission was also stateside at the time of the earthquake. Tentatively, he will be traveling to Haiti this Thursday (Jan 21st). The orphanage located in Mirianni which is on the outskirts of Port au Prince was not damaged by the quake, however, many of the buildings surrounding them collapsed. They have over 800 people inside their compound seeking shelter. Pastor Eli, the Haitian pastor that runs the ministry there, was spared and his family is alive. Mr. Sullivan will be assessing the long-term needs of the orphanage, Christian schools and churches that they have. As soon as we hear of the needs we will participate in the relief effort. Please be in prayer for these two ministries. And please help them financially as you are able. Thank you for your support. |
